Elon Musk’s infrastructure and tunnel construction company The Boring Company has reportedly received a permit for digging in Washington DC.
The exact location is 53 New York Avenue NE, next to a McDonald’s restaurant and near the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to The Washington Times. It is not known for how long or deep the digging will be.

The permit was issued by the district’s Department of Transportation, and it is a vague approval for the company’s plans to build an underground Hyperloop between New York and Washington DC.
Last July, Elon Musk tweeted that he had received verbal government approval for Boring Company to build an underground NY-Phil-Balt-DC Hyperloop.
