Wood Group secures engineering services contract with INPEX

Effective immediately, the contract is for five years with a two-year extension option and will be executed from Wood’s offices in Perth, Australia

John Wood Group PLC (LSE:WG) has secured a five-year contract supporting INPEX operated Ichthys offshore facilities, located 220km off the coast of Western Australia, and an onshore liquefied natural gas processing facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Effective immediately, the contract is for five years with a two-year extension option and will be executed from Wood’s offices in Perth, Australia. The exact value of the contract has not been revealed.

The FTSE 250-listed energy and engineering firm said it will deliver engineering services to support the execution of brownfield works as well as technical support services.

Thie new contract follows on from the award of a five-year contract in September 2016 to provide subsea engineering services to support Ichthys, a natural gas field in North-western Australia.

Robin Watson, Wood Group's chief executive said: “We are proud to be offering our diverse capabilities from subsea and topsides to brownfield engineering on this complex project, which has an operational life of at least 40 years.”

In late morning trading, Wood Group’s shares were up 0.3% at 621.6p.
