Beston Global Food Company Ltd (ASX:BFC) is producing mozzarella from its newly commissioned plant in South Australia.
The state-of-the-art mozzarella plant at Jervois is the company’s largest capital expenditure project to date.
Final commissioning of the plant represents the culmination of a $26.5 million investment by Beston into its dairy operations in the last 18 months.
Increased production of whey products
Annual production capacity is circa 16,000 tonnes of mozzarella and the plant also provides increased production of Beston’s whey products.
The plant increases dairy manufacturing capabilities and will allow the company to increase its product range to customers through existing wholesale, food service and retail channels.
Completion of the plant provides an increase in milk throughput at Beston’s dairy factories and an increase in utilisation of assets employed in the dairy division.
Near hard cheese plant
The mozzarella plant is circa 10 kilometres from the company’s hard cheese plant at Murray Bridge.
