Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL) has said it is opening 12 new datacentre regions in a bid to expand the breadth and depth of its cloud business across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
The Asian expansion will include China, India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and South Korea, in addition to new European centers in Amsterdam and Switzerland.

In America, the expansion will include two new US locations to support the Department of Defense, and two centers in Canada.
The company has stated that, as it expands its cloud business, it also expects its margins to expand, however Oracle did not provide information on hiring plans or costs.
Oracle shares were up about 1% in premarket trade at US$48.3 but have lost 3.2% over the past three months.
