Snap, Gilead Sciences, Walt Disney Co and more - AFTER HOURS

Proactive takes a look t what happened after the bell in New York

After a positive finish on Wall Street after the bell Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) shares surged nearly 21% to US$17.

The technology and social media company announced earnings today that impressed Wall Street, including an EPS (earnings per share), which was smaller than analysts predicted and a revenue beat.

Meanwhile, film giant Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) added 1.35% to US$107.60 as the conglomerate announced revenue that just missed expectations, but an earnings beat of nearly 30 cents.

The company has been trying to combat the decrease in TV viewership through on-demand services and mobile apps.

Elsewhere, fast food chain Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc (NYSE:CMG) stock plummeted almost 9% after the bell to US$277 after its quarterly numbers.

Although the EPS (earnings per share) number beat estimates and revenue was in line with expectations, same store sales still experienced sluggish growth, with predictions for growth in the coming year in the low single digits.

Last but not least, Gilead Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:GILD) shares shed 2.03% to US$78.75 after the New York bell after the biopharmaceutical company beat financial expectations, with EPS of $1.78 and revenue of $5.95 billion.
