Brooke was previously vice president of marketing and sales for Richland's wholly owned subsidiary, Capricorn Sapphire. He is described by the company as a “leading expert in the gemstone industry”

Mining operations will remain suspended, meanwhile, the company will also focus on its exploration programme, targeting a potential resource expansion.
"I am most pleased that Tony, with his wealth of gemstone industry knowledge and experience, has decided to take up the position of chief executive officer of the company and look forward to working closely with him,” said Edward Nealon, non-executive chairman.
