US non-farms in focus
US stocks were mixed at the close, with the Dow Jones up over 37 at 26,186.
The S&P 500 is down 1.83 at 2,821, while the Nasdaq is off over 25 points at 7,385.
In Toronto, the TSX is down over 103 points at 15,848.
MID-SESSION
US stocks are higher at mid-session as the markets digest a huge day for corporate earnings from some of the biggest players.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added over 125 points at 26,277, the S&P500 is up 8.6 at 2,832. The Nasdaq is up over 16 at 7,427.
In Toronto, the TSX is down over 105 points at 15,846.
Aeroplane giant Boeing (NYSE:BA) continues to support indices, with shares up 1.67% at US$360.28.
Ebay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) added over 14% to US$46.39 after the online auction firm revealed it was to drop payments group PayPal as its main payments processor.

Wheeling into focus is also tomorrow's latest US Non-Farm Payroll release.
Consensus is for an increase of 180,000 jobs in January, 2018. This would represent a decent bounce-back following last month’s disappointing rise of just 148,000 on expectations of 190,000.
It comes after the private sector ADP report - seen as the precursor - posted a better-than-expected jobs number.

Wall Street shares got off to a mixed to positive start on Thursday after the higher finish yesterday.
The Dow Jones is up over 16 points at 26,161.
The S&P500 is down 0.51 at 2,823.
The tech heavy Nasdaq is down 2.47 at 7,409.
In Toronto, the TSX is down 37.24 at 15,914.
In stocks, a notable mover was PayPal Holdings (NASDAQ:PYPL), which plunged 8.56% to US$78 in early deals even though the online payments company’s fourth-quarter results – released after-hours on Wednesday - beat expectations.
The stock was hit by news former parent eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY) has signed a deal with a new primary payment processor.
