St George recommences drilling at nickel sulphide prospect

Shares in the company have doubled over the past three months to $0.24.

St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has recommenced drilling at the Windsor nickel sulphide prospect within its 100% owned East Laverton Project in Western Australia.

Drilling of the Windsor X3 electromagnetic (EM) conductor commenced in December 2017.

After required servicing of the drill rig, it has now returned to site and recommenced at the Windsor X3 target.

Target features support massive nickel sulphides opportunity

The Windsor X3 conductor is a large late-time bedrock EM conductor with dimensions of 320x200 metres.

The target measured strong conductivity with a grade of 5000 Siemens.

Significantly, the conductor is co-incident with a magnetic feature as well as being on the edge of a gravity feature.

This is a favourable structural position for massive nickel sulphide accumulation.

John Prineas, chairman, said: “We are very pleased that drilling of the Windsor X3 conductor has recommenced quickly in the New Year.

“Previous drilling in this area has intersected thick sequences of ultramafic rocks with widespread magmatic nickel sulphides, indicating potential for significant nickel sulphide mineralisation.

“Windsor X3 is located in a structural and geological position that is favourable for massive nickel sulphides, adding to the strong prospectivity of this target.”
