Marmota hits high grade gold at Aurora Tank

Assay results of up to 17 g/t gold from the Goshawk deposit.

Marmota Ltd (ASX:MEU) has received high grade gold results from drilling at the Aurora Tank project in South Australia.

Best result was 1 metre at 17.0 g/t gold within a 5 metre intersection from 43 metres at 9 g/t gold.

The assay results are from a six hole diamond drilling program completed in November 2017 at the Goshawk deposit.

All holes intersect mineralisation

All holes intersected greater than 1 g/t gold which demonstrated geological continuity of mineralisation.

Other results are 2 metres at 9 g/t from 31 metres, including 1 metre at 16.5 g/t; 9 metres at 2.4 g/t from 16 metres; and 1.3 metres at 4/1 g/t from 23.7 metres.

Due to the soft and friable nature of weathered rock at Goshawk, some core was not able to be recovered during drilling.

Open pit mining potential

The nature of the rock points to the opportunity for low-cost open pit mining of the deposit.

Marmota will use the assays to obtain geotechnical, petrological and further metallurgical data.

This will assist in the evaluation of Goshawk as a mining proposition.

Aurora Tank is 50 kilometres from WGP Resources Ltd (ASX:WPG) operating Challenger Gold Mine, which has produced more than 1 million ounces of gold.

On 24 November 2017 Marmota and WPG outlined a strategic alliance to investigate the development of Aurora Tank and the treatment of gold ore through WPG’s Challenger plant.

Next at Aurora Tank

Marmota aims to estimate a gold resources within 50 metres of surface over the 500 metre-long mineralised zone, which is underway.

Further drilling is required to determine if the high-grade, near-surface intersections also point to mineralisation at depth.
