After the bell, Nordstrom Inc (NYSE:JWN) shares fell 1.13% to US$47.35 despite the fashion retailer unveiling festive sales results that showed increases in net and comparable sales.
This was due mainly to the group's discount division - Nordstrom Rack.
The retailer also increased guidance for its fiscal 2017 year.
Elsewhere, United Continental Holdings Inc (NYSE:UAL) saw shares lifted 1.56% to US$69.55 after the airline group released its December 2017 operational performance report.
That showed an increase in revenue passenger miles and available seat miles.
In other news, WD-40 Company (NASDAQ:WDFC) added over 4% to US$123.24 as the firm, famous for its spray, reported irst quarter earnings and revenue that cheered the market.
Elsewhere, Union Pacific Corp (NYSE:UNP) shares were lifted as the railways giant announced its 2017 financial results would factor in the effects of the new Republican tax bill.
