Wall Street stocks are seen starting higher after a mixed finish with retailer Target Corp (NYSE:TGT) a stock in focus in pre-market, up 3.97% at US$69.95.
The firm revealed that comparable store sales for November and December rose 3.4%, driven by strong traffic growth and online sales.
This has also led it to raise its fourth quarter profit forecast.
In other news, shares in Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (NYSE:SSNLF) slipped today as traders were underwhelmed by the company's profit estimate for its final quarter of fiscal 2017.
Acuity Brands Inc (NYSE:AYI) shares shed 0.53% after the bell. Analysts expect the electronics firm to post quarterly earnings at US$2.11 per share on revenues of US$879.31mln before the bell.
Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc (NASDAQ:SCHN) saw shares race up over 6% yesterday and almost 1% after the bell.
Wall Street expects the metals firm to post quarterly earnings of US$0.58 per share on revenues of US$485.21mln before the opening bell.
