With London trading set to close early on Friday for Christmas, it will be a quiet day on the financial calendar.
The only notable UK releases include the index of services data and the final economic growth figures for the third quarter from the Office for National Statistics.
Economists expect the last estimate for third quarter gross domestic product growth of 0.4% quarter-on-quarter and 1.5% year-on-year to remain unchanged so it is likely to be a non-event.
The index of services is, however, forecast to improve to a month-on-month growth rate of 0.2% in October from 0.1% the previous month.
While UK manufacturing has been showing signs of strong recovery, and construction is at last expanding again, the key services sector has not performed so well.
The service sector needs to pick up in order to the UK economy to grow at the kind of pace seen for much of 2016.
On the company front, there are no London-listed companies scheduled to report earnings.
The London Stock Exchange closes at 12.30pm.
