Marindi Metals Ltd (ASX:MZN) has completed a sampling program at the Cosmic Boy and Digger Rocks prospects, part of its Forrestania Lithium Project in Western Australia.
This was focused on the eastern Forrestania tenements at South Iron Cap and Mt Hope where sampling for 49 elements including gold was undertaken.
Western Areas (ASX:WSA) has returned promising drilling results at sites adjacent to South Iron Cap tenements, including 50 metres at 0.95% lithium.
Analytical results indicate anomalous for elements associated with pegmatite intrusives
Data from circa 900 samples has outlined two areas of anomalism, one east of Digger Rocks and the other east of Cosmic Boy.
The Cosmic Boy East grouping covers circa 3.2 kilometres of strike, is open to the north and is anomalous in elements associated with pegmatitic intrusives.
Minor gold anomalisms have also been identified at Cosmic Boy East.
Further sampling will be undertaken in 2018 to determine the northern extent of the anomalism.
Digger Rocks East anomalous for caesium and tantalum
The 14 square kilometre Digger Rocks East area is anomalous in pegmatitic elements, most notably caesium and tantalum.
Both anomalies will require further infill sampling to define drill targets.
Anomalous samples are located in a favourable position on or close to the contact between the greenstone sequence of the Forrestania belt and granitic intrusives to the east.
Marindi will be conducting soil sampling of the Cosmic Boy East and Digger Rocks East anomalies in 2018.
