FedEx, Red Hat, Micron Technology and more - After the bell

A look at extended hours trade in New York on Tuesday night..

US stocks closed lower on Tuesday, and after the bell, several stocks were moving and in focus.

Shortly after the close FedEx Corp (NYSE:FDX) posted second quarter numbers, which beat analyst expectations on porfit and revenue, and full year fiscal 2018 guidance.

The packaging firm is often considered a bellwether for the US economy and revealed a net income of US$775mln or $2.84 per share, up from US$700mln or US$2.59 per share a year earlier. Shares added 1.5%.

Meanwhile, Stitch Fix Inc (NASDAQ:SFIX) shares went the other direction, plunging over 12% to US$21.75 after the online personal shopping service reported its first financial results as a publicly traded company.

Earnings and revenue beat analyst expectations, but gross margins fell.

Elsewhere, software group Red Hat Inc (NYSE:RHT) fell 1.83% to US$126.50 in extended hours, despite strong third quarter financial results. The open source software company beat Wall Street expectations on top and bottom lines, and reported strong fourth quarter outlook.

Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:MU) added over 7% after the New York bell to stand at US$47.09.

The computer chip group unveiled quarterly financial results, which firmly well beat Wall Street expectations, and forecast a strong outlook for the second quarter.
