Core Exploration Ltd’s (ASX:CXO) drilling at the Sandras Prospect within the newly acquired Bynoe Lithium Project in the Northern Territory has returned the highest grades to date.
Highlights include 7 metres at 2.13% lithium from 201 metres within a 27 metre intersection from 195 metres at 1.45%.
The program demonstrates that there are additional pegmatites in Core’s project areas with potential for significant lithium grades and thicknesses.
Potential to host high-grade spodumene
Results from Core’s first drilling at Sandras confirm the potential to host high-grade spodumene pegmatite.
Other results include 38 metres at 1.08% lithium from 94 metres and 19 metres at 1.28% from 106 metres.
The prospect is adjacent to tenements that host the Grants lithium resource and the BP33 spodumene pegmatite.
Bynoe and Core’s nearby Finniss project are south of Darwin.
Drilling and assay results indicate that Sandras is open down plunge to the south, where grades appear to increase.
Results will be assessed in early 2018 as part of a preliminary evaluation of the size and continuity of spodumene mineralisation.
Further drilling planned in 2018
Further drilling is planned in 2018 to test potential extensions and zones of increasing grade at Sandras.
Early in January 2018, reverse circulation and diamond rigs will start resource upgrade drilling at Grants.
