Bluerock Diamonds revenues climb as carat size and value rises

Crucially for Bluerock the average carat size increased to 3.63 cpht (from 2.64)

BlueRock Diamonds PLC (LON:BRD) notched up a new record for monthly sales from its Kareevlei mine in South Africa

Total revenues from November’s tender amounted to US$387,000 (October:US$226,400) from the sale of 957.70 carats (October: 609.84 cpht).

Crucially for Bluerock the average carat size increased to 3.63 cpht (from 2.64) with a higher average value of US$404.45 (October: US$371.25).

The largest diamond was 9.07 carats and the highest value diamond was 7.76 carats selling for US$78,306 (US$10,091 per carat).

Production in November was 25,147 tonnes and above the target volume of 25,000 tonnes per month.

Earlier in the month, BlueRock appointed David Facey as its finance director.

Facey has twenty years experience in company fund raising and was a founder of broker SP Angel.

Shares rose to 2.25p valuing the group at just under £3mln.
