Online investor community and data group ADVFN Plc (LON:AFN) has today unveiled some details of its new ‘PlusOneCoin’ blockchain project which, among other things, is intended to promote content monetisation within its network.
ADVFN is partnered with fellow AIM stock On-Line PLC in the venture, which has already been tested in the ADVFN online community.
Together they are offering customers the opportunity to set up a PlusOneCoin blockchain wallet which, in their words, will allow users to ‘interact and up-vote content of other social media’.
Blockchain for social media?
The idea is that in due course customers will also be able to exchange PlusOneCoin for social media items and products on the ADVFN site using their PlusOneCoin wallets.
ADVFN said the new blockchain product provides its investor community with an ‘educational platform’ that will help them learn about cryptocurrencies.
"PlusOneCoin has been quickly accepted by the ADVFN community during testing,” said Clem Chambers, ADFVN chief executive.
“With the integration of a PlusOneCoin wallet we now have a platform to roll out new functionality and products to the user base while giving ourselves, content creators and our users, powerful tools and new channels of monetisation."
