Ryanair sees year-on-year passenger growth of 5.6% in November as load factor also improves

The Irish budget airline said it carried 9.3mln customers last month, up from 8.8mln in November 2016, increasing its rolling annual traffic total to 128.7mln passengers, up 11% on the year before

Ryanair Holdings PLC (LON:RYA) saw year-on-year passenger growth of 5.6% in November despite the fall-out from its pilot rota troubles which caused cancellations in September, as its load factor also improved.

The Irish budget airline said it carried 9.3mln customers last month, up from 8.8mln in November 2016, increasing its rolling annual traffic total to 128.7mln passengers, up 11% on the year before.

The increase came as Ryanair's load factor - how full its aircraft are - improved to 96% in November, up from 95% a year earlier.

The airlines chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs attributed the increases to lower fares.

"Ryanair customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for winter or summer," he said.
