Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI) has received further significant gold assays from its recently completed drilling program at the Mt York Gold-Lithium Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Significant new results include:
- 11 metres at 6.97 g/t gold from 112 metres, including 2 metres at 33.39 g/t gold;
- 30 metres at 1.30 g/t gold from 77 metres, including 7 metres at 2.23 g/t gold; and
- 22 metres at 1.18 g/t gold from 77 metres, including 4 metres at 2.73 g/t gold.
The latest holes include some of the best intercepts achieved to date at Mt York, including some exceptionally wide, high-grade zones.
Importantly, the latest assays support the initial results, confirming the continuity of the targeted sequence, while also featuring high-grade zones within each of the new intersections.
This supports the potential development of high-grade “shoots” within the broader mineralised envelope, which represents a positive development for the potential future economics of the project.
The drilling program has confirmed that the gold system comprising the Breccia Hill-Main Hill deposits is considerably larger than previously indicated and extends over a strike length of at least 3.5 kilometres.
Assay results are still awaited for 8 holes.
The Mt York project currently has a total indicated and inferred resource of 5.69 million tonnes at 1.42 g/t gold for 258,000 ounces of gold.
Kairos is targeting a resource upgrade in Q1/Q2 2018.
