White Cliff Minerals eyes resource upgrade at Aucu after high-grade gold, copper hits

The successful 2017 field season in the Kyrgyz Republic is now drawing to a close.

White Cliff Minerals Ltd (ASX:WCN) has intersected substantial gold and copper mineralisation including 17.5 metres at 1.5 g/t gold and 1.9% copper at its 90%-owned Aucu Gold Deposit in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The drilling is expected to increase the current high grade gold and copper resource at Aucu with the results from 12 further holes awaited.

Within the new 17.5 metre intersection, the central quartz zone contains 8.5 metres at 3 g/t gold and 3% copper with a core zone of 1.8 metres at 6 g/t gold and 8.9% copper.

In addition, drilling at depth north of the main Quartz Zone has intersected 2.1 metres at 3.2 g/t gold and 1.9% copper from 197.8 metres.

White Cliff’s successful 2017 field season at Aucu is now drawing to a close after drilling 45 holes for 5,780 metres, with the final two holes currently in progress.

In April 2017, White Cliff revealed an updated inferred resource of 1.8 million tonnes grading 5.2 g/t gold for 302,000 ounces of contained gold for the Aucu gold deposit.

The updated resource contains a high-grade zone (Quartz Zone) of 244,000 tonnes at 9.5 g/t gold for 75,000 ounces of gold, which starts at surface.

The company recently raised an additional $940,000 from the placement of shortfall shares following a rights issue, which was conducted at $0.002.

White Cliff’s shareholders have been rewarded with the stock most recently trading two times higher at $0.004.

The new funds will be allocated to exploration projects in the Kyrgyz Republic and Australia.
