The major North American gold miner Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) is currently evaluating the results of a surface sampling programme that has been conducted on the Ernest Giles project in Australia owned by Greatland Gold plc (LON:GGP).
Under a deal signed earlier in the year Newmont was granted access to Ernest Giles as well as to Greatland’s exploration database.

The Ernest Giles project covers over 1,800 square kilometres of a virtually unexplored greenstone belt that hosts multiple gold exploration targets.
Under the terms of the agreement, Newmont gained the right to apply certain proprietary exploration methods across this portfolio of targets.
