There were few surprises in Kier Group PLC’s (LON:KIE) trading update on Friday, with the construction company confirming it remains on track to deliver “double digit” profit this year.
Kier added that it is also on target to achieve its Vision 2020 targets – its five-year plan to become a “world class, customer focused company”.

The FTSE 250 group’s services division has been boosted by a new seven-year highways maintenance contract with Shropshire County Council worth £147mln which it announced last month.
Kier’s property arm is “performing well” with a pipeline in excess of £1.4bn, while the construction business’ order book already represents more than 95% of its targeted revenue for this year.
The extension of the Help to Buy scheme has helped all of the housebuilders and Kier’s residential division is no different as it “continue[s] to make good progress”.
