US futures are pointing to a higher open and there are plenty of movers in pre-market, including retail giant Walmart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT).
Shares in that firm are surging over 4% as its sales figures in the latest quarter topped Wall Street estimates
Same-store sales for its US locations climbed for the 13th consecutive quarter, as the firm cited growth in the food business and in the aftermath of the hurricanes.
The group also reported strong growth online, with e-commerce sales growing 50% in the three months.

Elsewhere, Rockwell Automation Corp (NYSE:ROK) saw shares rise almost 8% to US$203 after Emerson Electric Co raised its unsolicited buyout bid to buy the industrial automation group to US$225 a share from US$215 a share.
Under the terms of the new deal, Emerson would pay US$135 a share in cash and the equivalent of US$90 a share in Emerson stock for each Rockwell share outstanding.
Meanwhile, Viacom Inc (NASDAQ:VIAB) saw shares add 1.58% to US$25 after it reported net income of US$680 million, or $1.69 a share, in the third quarter, up from $432 million, or $1.09 a share, in the year-earlier period.
Adjusted per-share earnings came to US$1.18, well ahead of consensus estimates of 86 cents.
To the black gold, and Anadarko Petroleum Corp (NYSE:APC) saw shares nudge 0.80% higher after hours to US$48 each as it revealed its capital spending program for 2018, saying it expects to make capital investments ranging from US$4.2 billion to US$4.6 billion.
