US stocks are seen starting lower on Monday after the mixed finish Friday with mega firm General Electric Co (NYSE:GE) very much a stock in focus to start the week.
It is delivering a major strategy update as the week began and said it planned to cut its divided by half - reducing it to 12 cents a share from 24 cents a share, effective from December.
The market seemed to like the news and shares in pre-market in New York advanced 2.15% to US$20.93 each.
In other news, toy giant Mattel Inc (NASDAQ:MAT) added over 24% to US$18.20 in extended trade after reports that its rival Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) had offered to buy the firm.
Meanwhile, Wall Street expects Tyson Foods Inc (NYSE:TSN) to report quarterly earnings of US$1.38 per share on revenues of US$9.86bn before the opening bell.
Tyson shares rose 0.43% to close at US$74.14 on Friday.
Last but not least, JD.com Inc (NASDAQ:JD) shares closed up 0.40% last week at US$39.96 .
Analysts are expecting the company to have earned US$0.11 per share on revenue of $12.60 billion in its latest quarter.
