US benchmarks reached record highs at the close, and after the bell several stocks were in play.
One was mass media firm 21st Century Fox (NASDAQ:FOXA) which nudged up 0.96% to US$28.36 after the bell, as it posted quarterly revenue that beat expectations, while earnings were in-line with analyst projections.
The firm has recently faced heightened scrutiny by regulators and investors over sexual harassment scandals at its flagship network Fox News.
Elsewhere, Roku Inc (NASDAQ:ROKU), the digital media firm, saw shares add over 28% to US$24.15 after the company posted a narrower loss than Wall Street estimated.
It also unveiled better-than-expected sales in its first earnings report as a public company.
Going the other direction, Square Inc (NYSE:SQ), the California- based mobile payments firm, tumbled 3.3% to US$35.50 after hours despite the fact that it reported earnings and revenue, which beat analysts' expectations.
The stock set a fresh all-time intraday high on Monday.
Last but not least, CenturyLink Inc (NYSE:CTL) fell over 7.7% to US$15 after the New York bell after the telecoms firm reported lower-than-expected third quarter earnings. It also reduced its full-year guidance.
