Kellogg Co shares up in early trade after third quarter beats estimates

Kellogg maintained its 2017 full year earnings guidance, on a currency-neutral basis

Kellogg Co.(NYSE:K) saw its shares tick up higher in early Tuesday trade after the company released its third quarter results, which beat market estimates.

In a statement, the cereal maker, said net income came in at US$297.0mln, or 85 US cents per share, up from US$292.0mln or 82 US cents per share, a year ago.

Adjusted EPS was US$1.05, comfortably above the market expectations for 94 US cents.

Revenue was US$3.27bn, higher from the year-on-year figure of US$3.25bn, again beating market consensus of US$3.21bn, the maker of ready-to-eat cereal and convenience food.

Kellogg maintained its 2017 full year earnings guidance, on a currency-neutral basis.

In early trade, its shares were up 6.69% at US$62.81.
