As Apple Inc’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone X went on sale in the early hours of Friday, many gadget heads are facing a long wait for the latest iPhone than they perhaps expected.
Pre-orders for the US$1,000 iPhone X handset opened at 12:01am, but, within a matter of hours, customers were told they will be in for a wait of up to six weeks – putting extra pressure on Christmas shoppers.

Walk-in (or perhaps more accurately camp-out) shoppers will have the opportunity to pick up handsets in store on November 3.
Despite the substantial price tag, industry experts predicted Apple would struggle to supply enough handsets to meet demand, and the market will now be waiting for initial sales stats in the coming weeks.
In pre-market deals Apple shares were up 1.5% changing hands at US$159.77.
