Lockheed Martin Corp slips after hours as third quarter throws up mixed bag

The firm said earnings for the three weeks to September 30 declined to US$939 million,

Shares in global engineering and defence giant Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) slipped 1.16% after hours as it posted third-quarter earnings that just missed analyst estimates but the group guided higher.

The firm said earnings for the three weeks to September 30 declined to US$939 million, or $3.24 per share - down from US$1.09 billion, or US$3.61 per share, in the same period last year.

Adjusted per-share earnings were US$3.24, versus US$3.26 a year ago, missing consensus estimates for US$3.26 a share.

The group now expects full-year sales of between US$50 and US$51.2bn - up from earlier estimates of between US$49.8bn and $51bn.

Revenue for the quarter rose 5.4% to US$12.17 billion. This was up from $11.55 billion last year.

Shares slipped 1.16% to US$317 each.
