Verizon Communications Inc.(NYSE:VZ) saw its shares rise in premarket trade after its third quarter results beat market expectations.
In addition, the wireless, internet and TV provider recorded a net increase of 603,000 retail postpaid connections in quarter, including 274,000 phone subscribers.

The company had 115.3mln total wireless retail connections, up from 113.7mln the same quarter last year and 114.5mln in the second quarter.
Verizon reported net income of US$3.74bn, or 89 US cents per share, compared with US$3.75bn, or 89 US cents per share during the same period a year ago.
Per share earnings excluding special items was 98 US cents, slightly above market expectations for 97 US cents per share.
Revenue in the period rose to US$31.72bn from US$30.94bn, the year earlier, beating market consensus for US$31.44bn.
In premarket trade, its shares rose 2.80% at US$50.01, while in the regular session, Verizon rose 2.36% to US$49.79 each.
