Galantas Gold updates on accelerated mine development at Omagh

Ore will be stockpiled underground until there's enough for batch processing

Galantas Gold Corp (LON:GAL,CVE:GAL) has highlighted the accelerated development work at the Omagh Gold Mine in Northern Ireland.

The acceleration follows the resolution of issues related to blasting operations and the company said the underground development totals more than 90 metres.

It highlighted that the Stinger vein mineralisation was intersected, it is 0.5 metres wide, and a narrow width loader has now been acquired to operate short term on the vein while the firm awaits delivery of new specialist mining equipment.

Additionally, it noted that ore will be stockpiled underground until there’s enough material for batch processing at the floatation plant.

The company highlighted that drilling and loading equipment is performing above expectation although productivity has been lower than expected. More equipment is being acquired on a rental basis and this is expected to lift rates by more than 40%.

New staff members have been added to the workforce, with twenty-two people now on site.

Galantas also highlighted that safety matters remain a high priority, and it noted zero lost time accidents since the start of underground operations and routine water monitoring continues to be compliant.
