The shares climbed after the company announced early tender results for its offers to purchase outstanding loan notes. The offers were fully subscribed.
HP Inc (NYSE:HP), up 5.6% at US$21.55
PC manufacturer said it expects underlying earnings per share for fiscal 2018 will be somewhere between US$1.74 and US$1.84. The consensus forecast among analysts was US$1.75.
FALLERS
First Republic Bank (NYSE:FRC), down 5.0% at US$97.07
Third quarter earnings per share of US$1.14 on revenue up 20.1% year-on-year to US$670.3mln were a cent below the market's expectations. More significantly, the Street had been expecting revenue of US$723.6mln.
Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC), down 3.5% at US$53.24
The shares dipped after third quarter financials disappointed. Profit and revenue were both dented by legal issues, amid a pending legal settlement and scrutiny over sales practices.
