SIG PLC (LON:SHI) has told investors that it will issue a trading update on November 21. It will also host a strategy day on November 21 for analysts and investors at which there will be a series of presentations by members of the management team. Yesterday, the group said it had hired Andrew Allner as a non-executive director and chairman with effect from November 1.

This followed the news in March that Leslie Van de Walle had informed of his intention to step down as chairman and retire as a director of the company once a successor had been identified and the new group chief executive officer, Meinie Oldersma, was established in role.

Leslie will step down as chairman and retire as a director at the end of this month.
