Department 13 International Ltd (ASX:D13) has received a purchase order for the sale of two MESMER™ units into a federal prison system in the Latin American region.
This is the company’s first sale into this new geography and industry parallel.
Department 13’s MESMER counter drone system is a low power, non-jamming, non-line of sight, drone mitigation solution that protects personnel and infrastructure from dangerous drones.
The system can also be operated in auto-mitigation mode that does not require operator intervention to initiate a drone mitigation.
With a 50% upfront deposit on the purchase order, Department 13 has to deliver the units within this quarter.
These units were selected following a series of demonstrations over the last four months.
The initial units will be deployed in two high-profile prisons and will provide protection for the airspace over the prisons.
These prisons will serve as reference sites to expand product sales to other federal and state prisons, international airports, and sensitive government installations.
Interestingly, there are circa 7,500 federal, state and local penitentiary facilities in the U.S. and Latin America alone.
Department 13 is continuing to undertake demonstrations with customers globally, within the defense, key infrastructure and commercial industries.
