Amazon.com, Equifax, Monsanto Company, Acuity Brands - PRE-MARKET

According to regulators, Amazon received tax advantages between 2006 and 2014 in the country without any "valid justification"..

Several stocks are in play in pre-market, including the online behemoth Amazon.com (NYSE:AMZN), which has been ordered to pay €250mln to Luxembourg after the European Commission (EC) decided that the firm had received illegal tax benefits.

According to regulators, Amazon received tax advantages between 2006 and 2014 in the country without any "valid justification".

Amazon shares dropped 0.48% in after-hours deals to stand at US$957.10. In the regular session they gained 0.44% to US$961.30.

Also in focus today will be Equifax Inc (NYSE:EFX), which is giving testimony again in Washington. It is the second day.

The hack of the credit reporting specialist had compromised some of the most sensitive personal information of up to 145.5mln Americans, it said.

Equifax shares added 0.15% to US$110.62 after the bell in New York. Later they dipped 0.28% to US$110.14.

Also in focus in pre-market is Acuity Brands Inc (NYSE: AYI), which analysts expect to have earned US$2.43 per share on revenues of $975.87mln in its latest quarter, which it reports before the bell. Shares later added 4.42% to US$177.16.

Agricultural behemoth Monsanto Company (NYSE:MON) added 2.41% after hours, ahead of its quarterly results. Scribes expect the group to report a quarterly loss at $0.41 per share on revenue of $2.53 billion before the opening bell. In the regular session, shares added 0.33% to US$120.08.

A reasonable question in the light of Yahoo + Equifax is how many huge companies have had massive data breaches they aren’t disclosing
