A big loser after hours in New York was Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ:ODP), which plunged 8.50% to US$4.20, after the business supply group lowered its guidance for 2017.
It also announced it was buying information technology firm CompuCom for around US$1 billion, adding US$1.1bn of revenue and more than US$40 million within two years in cost synergies.
Office Depot now expects adjusted operating income to be between US$400mln and US$425mln, from a previous estimate of US$500mln.

To cars and a name synonymous with the industry, Ford (NYSE:F.) saw shares tick 0.24% higher afer hours, as the manufacturer outlined plasn to cut costs and oput the cash saved int developing electric and self-driving cars.
Verizon communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) shares went 0.12% lower after the bell to US$49.79 as investors tuned into the latest news on the Yahoo data theft.
Yahoo is now a Verizon subsidiary and it emerged that all 3bn accounts were affected by the 2013 data theft that was revealed last year.
Yahoo included the finding in an update to its account security update page.
Elsewhere, Hanesbrands Inc (NYSE:HBI) shares added 1.38% to US$24.19 in the extended session after it dropped nearly 4.5% on the day (Tuesday).
