Voltaic Minerals Corp (CVE:VLT) told investors it has amended its agreement with Lithium Selective Technologies Inc (LiST), which was announced in April.
As reported then, Voltaic started work with LiST on a potential new way to extract lithium from the brine at its Green County project in Utah.
Initial work was on an interim basis to obtain sufficient technical data for a definitive production and use agreement.
"Lithium Selective has continued testing using its hybrid technology for the recovery of lithium from natural brines," said Voltaic today in a statement.
Lithium Selective will now provide a summary of their findings and recommendations by October 31 this year, after which Voltaic will have 30 days to execute a joint development or other agreement where Voltaic will be a full participant in continuing development.
If Voltaic chooses not to fund Lithium Selective or otherwise become involved with the group and its process, Voltaic would be issued 10% of Lithium Selective shares in lieu of the loan already made to fund the research.
Voltaic shares were unchanged at C$0.055 each.
