Hurricane Energy Plc (LON:HUR) has updated on its progress towards ‘first oil’ production from the Lancaster oil field, in the West of Shetland region offshore UK.
The company said in a statement that the Aoka Mizu floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel has now arrived at Drydock World Dubai shipyard on September 30.

Additionally, Drydocks World is also working on the fabrication of a buoy, and the first pieces of steel have now been cut for the project.
Hurricane is targeting ‘first oil’ at Lancaster during the first half of 2019.
Last month, the company ticked off an important box as it continues to advance Lancaster, as the field development plan got the regulatory green-light. It marked a formal start to Lancaster’s development phase.

“The Lancaster EPS (Early Production System) is not only an essential step in planning for the full field development of the company's Rona Ridge assets, but also represents a substantial development in its own right, with planned production of 17,000 barrels of oil per day,” Hurricane chief executive Robert Trice said in a statement last month.
