US shares closed higher on Wednesday and several stocks were in play after the bell, including Advanced Accelerator Applications (NASDAQ:AAAP).
The nuclear medicine group saw shares add 9.61% to US$65.50 after the bell on reported news that drugs behemoth Novartis was considering a deal for the company.
Elsewhere, Medtronic plc (NYSE:MOT) shares nudged up a tad - 0.60% to US$77.84 - after the key FDA approved its HeartWare HVAD system - which provides therapy for patients with advanced heart failure who are not suitable for heart transplants.
In tech world, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), down 0.23%, Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), down 0.21%, and Twitter Inc (NYSETWTR), 0.18% down, after reports that these big caps could be called to the US senate to testify about the ongoing probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Meanwhile, Abbott Laboratories' shares (NYSE:ABT) nudged 4.60% higher to US$54.55 after the bell, after having closed 1.32% lower in the regular session.
