Diversified US cannabis company iAnthus Capital Holdings Inc (CSE:IAN, OTCQB:ITHUF) has bolstered its management with the appointment of Carlos Perea as chief operating officer.
He is a technology and operations veteran with more than 20 years' experience in venture capital-backed companies in complex, highly regulated markets.

"As iAnthus continues to grow, Carlos will play an integral role in developing organizational capabilities to increase shareholder value in the rapidly growing cannabis market," said Hadley Ford, iAnthus chief executive.
"Given Carlos's extensive track record of building strong teams capable of operational excellence, his experience is well suited for rapid growth industries and Carlos shares iAnthus' overall vision for future growth."
Early in his career, Perea worked as tech giant Intel Corp's (NASDAQ:INTC) semiconductor fabrication manufacturing manager, where he ramped the organisation from 50 to over 3,400 employees.

iAnthus also noted today in a statement that it is looking forward to closing its current proposed deal to buy Citiva Medical LLC and CITIVA USA in an US$18mln deal, which will expand its operations into five US states.
It is then expected that Kim Volman, the chief executive and co-founder of Citiva, as well as Jack D'Angelo, Chief Medical Officer of Citiva, will be added to the Company's operations team.
iAnthus shares in Toronto added 0.37% to C$2.70 each.
