ITM Power plc (LON:ITM) has sold a 1.1Mw hydrogen electrolyser to EnergyStock, a subsidiary of Gasunie, the Dutch gas transmission network operator.
No details of the financial aspects of the contract were announced, but ITM said the sale was won in a competitive tender process and includes after-sales support.
The electrolyser will be located at EnergyStock's Zuidwending salt cavern storage facility in northern Netherlands, and the generated hydrogen will be either used on-site, or dispensed into tube trailers for supply to future hydrogen refuelling stations.

Graham Cooley, ITM Power’s chief executive, said he was delighted to be working with EnergyStock.
“Power-to-Gas is the lowest cost long duration energy storage technique known. Power-to-Gas Energy Storage is joined up energy systems thinking - it exploits the virtues of an existing asset (the gas grid) to decarbonise both electricity and gas networks.
“Using excess renewable power to provide renewable heat combines two problems into one elegant solution."

ITM has seen a sharp uptick in orders for hydrogen storage electrolysers in recent weeks.
At the start of September, it announced a joint venture with Shell to install a 10Mw electrolyser at the Wesseling refinery site in Germany. It will be the largest unit of its kind in Germany and the world's largest PEM electrolyser.
ITM is also part of a consortium that will run the first hydrogen powered bus route in France.
