Nordstrom, Apple, Jamie Dimon and more - AFTER HOURS

As well as the Apple event in California, we take a look at what was garnering interest after hours

Nordstrom Inc (NYSE:JWN), the luxury department store group headquartered in Seattle, was in play last night.

It emerged on Tuesday that the Nordstrom family is close to choosing private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners to help fund a buyout of the store.

The family announced in June it was looking to take the department store private.

Shares rose and were at $48.49 after hours.

Meanwhile, JP Morgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) and its chief Jamie Dimon were in focus on Tuesday and after hours.

He said that crypto-currency Bitcoin was a 'fraud ' and will blow up, speaking at an investor conference in New York.

Shares in the bank added 0,07% to $90.95, having earlier closed 1.23% higher at $90.89.

Last night of course the focus was tech behemoth Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and the focus on the launch of the iPhone X is likely to continue today.

Shares nudged 0.60% lower after the bell as it unveiled the new iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as well as other gadgets such as the Apple watch and TV and future suggest it may go lower still.

An issue seems likely to be the phone's $1,000 price tag.
