Frontier IP's CSI launches domestic oven sensor at prestigious trade show

CSI provides sensors and control systems for heat transfer processes. Its technology can improve fuel efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote consistent, optimal product quality

Cambridge Sensor Innovation (CSI), one of the companies backed by Frontier IP Group Plc (LON:FIPP), has launched a new domestic oven sensor.

CSI is exhibiting this week at IFA in Berlin, the world's leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, where it will be showcasing its newly-launched novel sensor system and smartphone app that can transform the performance of domestic ovens, enabling the production of restaurant-quality food in the home and reducing cooking time.

In what sounds like a godsend for cooks who get absorbed in doing something else when they should be keeping an eye on the oven, CSI says its technology will produce professional cooking results in a domestic oven, enabling, for example, a perfectly caramelised crème brulée or a crisp thin crust pizza to be baked in four minutes, compared with typical cooking times of 12 minutes or more.

"We are very encouraged by the initial response we have received at IFA Berlin for the new CSI sensor system for domestic ovens,” said Dr Mark Williamson, chief executive officer of CSI.

“We are delighted to be showcasing our system, alongside cutting-edge global innovators, which can transform the performance of the humble domestic oven making it possible to reproduce the performance of professional catering ovens at home," he added.

Shares in Frontier rose 4.4% to 48.55p in the first hour of trading.
