Work on the prototype of Flying Brands Ltd’s (LON:FBDU) Stone Checker kidney stones medical imaging software is expected to resume in the next few days after a fire at the manufacturer’s warehouse temporarily halted production.
The original plan had been for the prototype to be delivered this month for evaluation and internal review, before making a start on gaining regulatory approval shortly afterwards.

However, the fire has pushed that process back by another couple of months, Flying Brands told investors.
“All other aspects of the Stone Checker Software businesses continue to be developed entirely as planned and the Board is confident that this marginal delay in timelines will have no material impact on the overall CE Marking programme,” the AIM-quoted company added.
Flying Brands expects the software, once fully developed, will help physicians to decide which form of kidney treatments will be most effective for their patients by analysing various parts of the stone’s composition.

It has said in the past, however, that there is the “possibility of further applications being identified”.
Shares fell 11.3%, or 0.41p, to 3.27p.
