Palo Alto Networks Inc, Lululemon Athletica Inc, Nutanix Inc - AFTER HOURS

We stayed up at Proactive Investors and checked out what happened after hours

US stocks closed higher on Thursday and a number of stocks saw their star rising after the bell.

Tech group Palo Alto Networks Inc (NYSE:PANW) saw shares rise 5.47% to US$139.95 in New York.

It came after a fourth quarter earnings report cheered investors, showing revenue and earnings gliding past analysts' expectations.

It's been quite a week of reports from sports clothes retailers and Lululemon Athletica Inc (NYSE:LULU) reported after the bell, with shares surging 5.8% to US$60.89 as its second quarter earnings were above estimates.

The group earned US$49mln in the three months, compared with US$54 million in the year-ago period.

Elsewhere, Nutanix Inc (NASDAQ:NTNX) shares gained 5.45% to US$23.20 as the cloud computing group unveiled a loss of 33 cents a share, which was 5 US cents better than Wall Street had expected.

On the flip side, Ambarella Inc (NASDAQ:AMBA), the video tech firm, saw shares plunge 9.3% in extended hours to US$49.34, despite the company posted a third quarter beat.

On a per-share basis, it posted 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 48 US cents per share, exceeding Wall Street expectations.

Consensus was for earnings of 45 US cents a share.
