Department 13 International continues to see a growth in revenue

The company’s drone mitigation solution allows users to take total control of a target drone.

Department 13 International Ltd (ASX:D13) has achieved a 179% increase in revenue to $1.1 million for the year ended 30 June 2017, following the commencement of sales of its counter drone system.

However, the revenue only included the sale of one MESMER 1.0 unit during the period as well as two contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense.

Post the financial year end, Department 13 has already contracted to sell five MESMER™ 1.5 units and has shipped the first four to the client this week.

MESMER is a drone mitigation solution that protects personnel and infrastructure from dangerous drones by allowing users to stop, redirect, land, or take total control of a target drone.

With increased worldwide drone activity that presents evolving security challenges, there is a growing interest in Department 13’s platform.

In addition to commercialising the first set of technologies, it has been a significant year for Department 13 that has positioned the company for substantial growth in coming years.

The company has appointed distributors in Monaco, France, Thailand and Indonesia in FY17, adding to distributors already in Australia and NZ, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Chile, Peru.

Significantly, demonstrations of MESMER system have been ongoing over the last six months to a range of government and commercial customers in Europe, Middle East, Asia and the U.S.

Current discussions with clients on the initial purchase orders are in the range of a minimum of 1-5 MESMER units, with the exception of two large government clients that have indicated more orders.

Subsequent to the shipment of the first four MESMER™ 1.5 systems, the company is expected to receive multiple purchase orders for the system over the balance of the FY18.
