Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ:NDSN) fell sharply in after-hours trading after it lowered fiscal fourth quarter guidance.
In the final quarter of its financial year the dispensing equipment maker's sales are expected to increase 4 to 8% over the prior year.
Underlying earnings, or EBITDA, is tipped to fall in the range of US$133 to US$144 million, or US$2.27 to US$2.46 per diluted share.
The shares were off 9% in screen-based trading at US$114.00.
Old school retailer Macy's Inc (NYSE:M) is evidently hoping a bit of e-commerce magic will rub off on it now it has appointed senior eBay executive Hal Lawton as its new president.
Lawton will join Macy's on 8 September.
In similar vein, Tronc Inc (NASDAQ:TRNC) – the company formerly known as Tribune Publishing - named former Yahoo! luminary Ross Levinsohn as chief executive officer and publisher of the Los Angeles Times.

Despite beating market forecasts with its fiscal fourth quarter sales figures, the earnings of beauty products company Coty Inc (NYSE:COTY) failed to come up smelling of roses in the market's view.
The shares fell 8% to US$18 in after-hours trading as the company posted flat earnings, versus expectations of earnings per share of nine cents.
Revenues of US$2.24bn beat the consensus forecast of US$2.17bn.
