European Lithium and Shandong RuiFu Lithium extend time for off-take agreement

European Lithium is fast-tracking the development of the Wolfsberg lithium project.

European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR) has advised that it has mutually agreed with Shandong RuiFu Lithium Co., Ltd to extend the time frame for entering into a formal off-take agreement.

The agreement covers spodumene concentrates from the Wolfsberg lithium project in Austria.

Discussions between the company and Shandong RuiFu are ongoing and this amendment provides for an additional 60 days from 15 August 2017 to negotiate off-take terms and enter into a formal agreement.

Tony Sage, chairman for European Lithium, commented: "We are working hard to secure an off-take partner for the Wolfsberg project and the extension of time negotiated between the company and Ruifu allows us to explore several other options that have recently arisen."

Battery-grade lithium carbonate

EUR is fast-tracking the development of Wolfsberg, and recently produced battery-grade lithium carbonate from its hydrometallurgical testwork program.

The testwork showed that battery grade lithium carbonate grading over 99.9% can be made from the flotation concentrate.

The recovery of lithium from the spodumene concentrate as lithium carbonate was estimated as 86.8% for a continuous operation.
