Proactive takes a look at what's going on ahead of the bell in pre-market New York

US stocks are seen starting the new trading week higher after a firm finish on Friday.

It comes as worries over the escalating tensions between North Korea and President Trump seem to have abated, at least for now, and the focus is more on a possible probe by the US into unfair Chinese trade practices and violence in Virginia, America, over the weekend.

A woman died, and 19 were injured, after a car rammed into a group of anti-far-right protesters in Charlottesville on Saturday.

Separately on Monday, US President Donald Trump could struggle to meet economic growth targets amid tension with North Korea and the failure of his plan to “repeal and replace” Obamacare, according to S&P Global Ratings.
