Lydian International takes receipt of major equipment as Amulsar construction continues

"We are very pleased that our vendors are meeting fabrication schedules and deliveries..," said Lydian's chief executive

Lydian International Inc (TSE:LYD) says major equipment has now arrived on site at its giant Amulsar gold mine in Armenia, which is under construction.

These include components for the crushing plant, including the jaw crusher, a rock breaker, pan feeders, and screen liners.

Components have been shipping since the second quarter this year, as fabrication is completed, noted Lydian.

"Equipment lead times and delivery logistics present unique challenges for many projects, said Howard Stevenson, Lydian’s chief executive.

"We are very pleased that our vendors are meeting fabrication schedules and deliveries to site are being well managed.”

Modular steel structures are arriving on site and this will continue throughout the third quarter of 2017, the group added.

Machinery giant Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) remains on track to manufacture the main mine mobile equipment, the first phase of which has arrived and deliveries to Amulsar and assembly are expected over the rest of the third quarter of 2017.

The gold recovery plant is being fabricated in South Africa by Azmet and pre-assembled modules have been loaded for shipment later this month. Delivery is expected by late third quarter this year.

"Fabrication of the main substation and distribution grid, integrated automation and process control by optimized solutions, motors and drive systems is advancing in accordance with the manufacturer’s planned delivery schedules," Lydian added.

Electrical transformers are scheduled for shipment this month, with delivery anticipated during the fourth quarter of 2017.

Lydian shares eased 1.33% to C$0.37 in Toronto.
