Marriott International Inc, NxStage Medical Inc , Zynerba Pharmaceuticals Inc and more

We take a look at what's moving the needle for you before the bell in New York

US stock futures are pointing to a higher open on Monday after the share rally continued on Friday, and there was a higher close on Wall Street.

Canadian stock markets are closed today, however. Before the bell in New York, though, several stocks are in play.

One is hotel group Marriott International Inc (NYSE:MAR), which surged after hours 4.6% to $105.02 ahead of quarterly earnings, which are expected to be be released later after the bell, and news of a big deal. Shares on monday's regular session gained 1.08% to $106.15.

The group along with tech giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:BABA) also unveiled earlier the establishment of a travel joint venture.

The venture will leverage Marriott global portfolio of brands and Alibaba's digital retail leadership and its role as a gateway for international brands to reach over 500mln mobile monthly active users, it emerged. Alibaba shares closed Friday up 0.015 to $153.33 each and on Monday added 3.23% to $158.28.

Fying in pre-market is NxStage Medical Inc (NASDAQ:NXTM) which shot up over 25% to after the giant group Fresenius Medical Care announced plans to acquire NxStage for $30.00 per share in cash. It added almost 28% later.

Sticking within the sector, Horizon Pharma PLC (NASDAQ:HZNP) was lifted over 14% it posted a stong set of second quarter results and raised its full year 2017 guidance. Later on Monday the stock added 4.56% to $13.28.

Rockwell Collins Inc (NYSE:COL) added 8% to $128.50 in pre-market trading after it emerged that United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX) was considering the acquisition of the group, according to sources reported on Friday after the close.

On the losing front and also in pharma, Zynerba Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: ZYNE) tanked over 45% in pre-market trading as the company disclosed that its Phase 2 STAR 1 trial of ZYN002 did not meet primary endpoint.

The candidate is a cannabidiol gel in adult epilepsy with focal seizures.

Shares in the group have dropped 21.7% over the last three months, and today in regular trading shed 56.63% to $6.53.
